MP Trip in May 2025

Here are few picks which I have taken at the time of my journey from Hyderabad to Lucknow in Madhya Pradesh. They are from Pinch National Park (the land of Mowgli), Panna National Park and Khajuraho.

Indian grey hornbill. This particular pick I have taken in my village in Uttar Pradesh near Ayodhya.

    Brahma Temple Khajuraho MP.

    Indian Owl.

Sambar deer in Panna National Park

Left side of the image, the elephant name is Vitsala.  The oldest elephant of the world. Vatsala, believed to be Asia's oldest elephant, has died July 8, 2025 at the Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh at the age of over 100. She was known for her gentle nature and role in caring for younger elephants. Vatsala was originally from Kerala and was brought to Madhya Pradesh in 1971, where she worked in forest operations before retiring in 2003.

Spotted deer, also known as chital, are a common and iconic sight in Pench National Park.
They are easily recognizable by their golden-rufous coats with white spots and are often
found in herds, particularly in the park's grasslands and open forests.

Indian wild dog. Pench National Park is known for its population of dholes, also called Indian wild dogs or Asiatic wild dogs.

    Black-Hooded Oriole
